What is an Impact Player in IPL?
Simply put, IPL Impact Player is a kind of substitute who will announce to the match like a normal player. What is the Impact Player rule? (Step by Step)

Before the Match
Somewhere before or just after the toss (in the IPL, teams submit names after the toss), the captain submits to the match referee a team sheet. What is the role of an Impact Player Rule in IPL?
After entering the match, the Impact Player gets all the rights to play. A team may include one or more ”Joker” players in the starting XI. A ‘joker’ player: Special conditions for joker substitute(s): They are allowed to bat at their regular position in the batting order and bowl their full allotment of four overs (regardless of how many were bowled by the replaced player).
Field anywhere on part of the ground, Impact Player is even the captain (which is rare). For the bowling side, the only limitation is that if the Impact Player comes into play mid-over, after a wicket or a retirement, they cannot bowl the remaining balls of that over. Can a foreign player be an Impact Player Rule in IPL?
Here is another one of the more popular questions from fans, and yes, but only under certain circumstances. For IPL, a maximum of four overseas players in the playing XI can be on-field at any moment. This cap will also apply to the Impact Player rule.
The Impact Player can also be an Indian (domestic) cricketer if a team has four overseas players in their Playing XI at the start of the match. If a team begins with three or fewer overseas players, it can also bring one on as its Impact Player (but the total that can be on the field during play at any time will not exceed four).

Siraj was finally recognized as the first Impact Player in IPL history.
Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Tushar Deshpande became the first-ever Impact Player Rule in IPL history. Deshpande came in at the start of the second innings against the Gujarat Titans on March 31, 2023, during the IPL 2023 season opener between CSK and the Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after Ambati Rayudu walked off.

Only IPL has the Impact Player Rule in IPL.
If you think of the Impact Player Rule in IPL as something in the IPL to begin with, you’d be wrong.
